What does it mean to me?

I use to listen to music (like everyone), I like that (like everyone) but I listen to unconventional music (not like everyone) for example; Do you use to listen to the *OST of your favorite videogame, series or movie? If the answer is yes… Yay! We are in the same team ;) (But it rarely happens). And besides the OST, I use to listen to songs by The Beatles, Rammstein, and other Rock Bands, so my musical genre is Rock :P (da, obvious xD).
I started to listen to music 4 years ago (when I was 15). In this time I used to listen to the same kind of music that my big sisters likes (Rammstein, J-Rock, Traditional rock, etc) and I still listen to it, so it’s their fault. But I improved my play list.
I use to listen to this kind of soft or exciting music (depends on the movie we`re talking about), because it relaxes me or wakes me up. This is ideal for balancing (mentally) or concentrating (especially when I`m very sparse). That is why I say that music is a mental catalyst.

*OST = Original Sound Track

This is going to sound weird or freak, but I love the fluorescent tubes!!! I don’t know if their cold glows, toxicity by mercury or easy manipulation are the things that call my attention, but I am sure of one thing… I love them!! (Especially the energy saving bulbs and Black lights ^^)
I can’t remember when I got my first fluorescent tube or energy saving bulb (probably when I was doing the light-cover for my aquarium) but I am sure of (another) one thing: I loved going to the store to buy bulbs and  F. tubes (it`s easier than typing the entire word, yes I am lazy :º)
The F. tubes (and similar) are so useful for different types of lighting (and other applications). For example I use energy saving bulbs (preferably with cold glow) to illuminate the plants of my paludarium and terrarium-desk lamp. Besides they are ideal to illuminate environments spending little energy (and reducing the feeling of guilt for not being ecological). And although you do not believe me the F. tubes can be used to attract bugs (you can interpret it as you wish, whether it is pest control or to capture study material).
I can`t imagine a world
without it (yes, I can, but I`m referring to a modern world), A world without their insomnia provoking lights, cold glows and effects of different illumination (like the black light).
Without the F. tubes life would made of warms colors that hurt the sigth and there would be more drowsiness (I don`t like it).

I like to go to...

If I could go anywhere.. I´d like to go to the Antarctica..and now, you`re wondering "why Simonkey wants to go to this piece of ice, rock, and penguin poop?" and the answer is very easy and simple (1313); The Antarctic is the most isolates, unexplored and interesting (for their natural history) and obviously the continent of more difficult access, all a challenge to reach.
Until now, I know tha the weather is`nt a charm, especially on winter, with temperatures down to -60ºC and has the lowest annual precipitation rates (and as a curiosity the Antarctica contains the 80% of fresh water)
Being there, I would show the Aurora Australis, know the penguins, leopard seals, fosils of extinted tropical species (plants and animals) and admire the glaciars :º
Being in the antarctic could be a great opportunity to make a emvironmental research, so worth to withstand the shocks and dificults, to see things that very few have seen ü.
 frozen waves ^^

Insects of Chile

Hi everybody! For this week, the work for english class is to talk about a website related to my carrer... "Insectos de Chile" (this). This website is about bugs, beetles, butterflies, flies, etc, any way: insects fron Chile (and a little about  foreign bugs). And it also has information about techniques and instrucions on how to catch, preserve and classify insects (especially beetles).
This site has 13 sections, but only these are useful or updated; "¿Que son los insectos?", "Entomologia", "Colecta y concervación", "Galeria", "Foro" and "Web`s amigas". The most useful section is of course the forum, where the users ask and respond about identifications, bibliographies and tips about of course bugs. Another section that is very useful (for amateurs entomologysts) is the Gallery, where I can identify part of my collection.
I like to visit this site almost every day, because it has very useful information to classify my beetle collection.
And that is all, thanks for visiting my blog and reading this post ;)
See you   next week
